从前，一只小蚂蚁在路上走着，走着走着，忽然感觉到地在颤动，回头一看是一只大象正朝他走来。于是他很快用土盖住身体，不幸一只脚忘在了外面。一只麻雀看到了一切，她飞下来想要取笑一下这只蚂蚁，说：“咳，胆小鬼，小心你的脚，露出来了!”蚂蚁开始有些尴尬，但一会不紧不慢地告诉麻雀说：“小声点，我要在绊那只大象。”
今天，我站在这个讲台上。但周围的一切让我想到的却并不是一段有趣的回忆。大概是去年的这个时间，我在南京参加另一个全国英语演讲比赛。那是我第一次参加大赛，当然压力非常大。经过压抑无眠的一整夜，我走上了演讲台。那时我有史以来最差的`一次演讲。我不记得自己怎么从讲台上走下来的，只记得当时很想找一个地方躲进去再也不出来就想我故事中的蚂蚁。回到学校，我花了好一段时间才恢复过来。幸好有朋友和老师的鼓励，我又一次有了勇气和信心。经过一轮又一轮的演讲和回答问题，我今天站在了这里。让也我领悟了一个道理：一个好的将来是建立在忘掉过去的基础上的，直到真正忘记过去的失败生活才会变的美好。今天，我没有惧怕，又一次站到了大象的面前。
